Hey, it may not be the best lyrics for a song, but have you actually listened to some of the lyrics in traditional nursery rhymes anyway?! Actually, in all honesty, my son does not care about the lyrics at all right now (2 months) as long as you sing to him. I find myself rocking him around the house, either singing just random words, or making up my own songs! (;

Wow. The problem doesn’t seem to be that you’re favoring one child over another, it seems that you had no idea what children are like before you had them. Didn’t you realize you didn’t like how kids play? How they DO have tons of energy and enthusiasm? Especially boys, but girls could be that way as well, and you just lucked out with the temperament and interests of your daughter. You could very well have had two kids you didn’t like to play with because -gasp- they have the nerve to have interests different than yours. Why did you want kids if you’re not enjoying this new little person develop his own interests? Are kids supposed to be clones of you? Personally, before my son I had no interests in bugs or robots or legos but now that he’s here I’m delighting in him opening up a whole new world for me of interests I never thought about before!

Aww, what a cutie. I lost my first tooth when I was 5 as well, except that it was caused by another kid’s elbow slamming into my face (not on purpose or anything). The tooth fairy never brought me presents, only money, and never enough to actually buy anything. I think I got ripped off.

What a sweet story! And I hear what you’re saying. My boys are 7 and 9 and with each passing day, they get a little older and my heart hurts a little. While I love each passing stage, I know they won’t be little and adorable forever. Sigh.

Enjoy your little 5 year old and his missing tooth. Savor it. And take pics of his smile!

My son, who is now 9, lost his first tooth when he was 4. It came out the old fashion natural way. By the time he was 5 he had already lost 4 teeth. Now when he has a loose tooth he will wiggle and pull on it to force it out because, as he says “I want the money!” Yes, we leave one dollar bill under the kids pillow for every tooth.

Hahaa I’m laughing bc my friend was doing this with her son… One day they came over she insisted this method works so she asked me if she could do it at my house…. I said sure I guess…next thing I know he took a massive dump on my couch…. I guess good thing I have leather couches:)
